Shredder security level refers to the level of paper destruction and is measured on seven levels: P-1 to P-7. Level P-1 produces the largest particles after shredding and level P-7 produces the smallest particles after shredding. A higher shredder security level is recommended for highly sensitive or confidential documents, while a lower shredder security level is recommended for general shredding purposes.

Continuous Run Time, captured in minutes, refers to the amount of time the device will operate continuously before its needed cool down period between cycles.

Shredder cut type refers to the cut style and indicates the size of the particles produced after paper destruction. Strip-cut shredders produce long strips of paper. Cross-cut shredders cut paper in two directions producing smaller pieces and offer a medium level of security. Micro-cut shredders also cut paper in two directions and offer a higher level of security by producing tiny paper particles.

Noise level, measured in decibels (dB), is the level of noise emission. The louder the noise, the higher the decibel level.
